Use this chart to decide which services you need to utilize for the resources you desire.

Recommended Service


Use the Library Catalog. Here you can see what print and electronic books we have available for your topic.

If you have trouble finding books, Ask a Librarian. If none are available, we can Interlibrary Loan a book for you.


Use GALILEO. You can select a Subject based on your paper topic. Then search within the recommended databases.

You can also use the Search Box on the GALILEO homepage to search across several general databases.

If you need a full-text journal, use our Journal Finder.

Type in the name of the Journal (not the article title), then see if the specific issue you need is available.

You can utilize our Interlibrary Loan services.

Write down the Call Number of the book and go to the corresponding shelf.

A - C located in Basement
D - G located on 1st Floor
H - P located on 2nd Floor
Q - Z located in Basement
Reference in Basement

If the book is listed in the catalog as an Electronic Book, simply click on the link provided (requires GALILEO password if off-campus)


Come up with a list of keywords that correspond with your research topic, then use these words in your searches. You can also limit your searches to only full-text or peer-reviewed if you desire.

GALILEO requires a password for off-campus users.

Try watching some of the Online Tutorials about GALILEO. If you need further assistance, contact the Librarian.

If you are using resources such as Google Scholar and are having a hard time finding full-text articles, take the citations you are finding and search for them in our Journal Finder! We often have subscriptions to resources that are not available for free online.

If we do not have an article, use our Interlibrary Loan department.

If an item is available from within Georgia, it generally takes 3-5 business days!
