GALILEO Password

Many GALILEO resources require Oglethorpe's password for off-campus access. You will be prompted if the password is necessary to use a resource. You may also enter the password in the "Home/Password Access" box on the GALILEO Homepage.

How to get the password:

1) Your Library Account
If you are a current student or faculty/staff member, you may check the current GALILEO password through your library account.

  • Click on the Your Account button located under the library catalog seach box on the library's main page.
  • Login by entering your library barcode and last name. Your barcode is located on your OU PetrelPass.
  • Your account information will appear. Click on the Request button in the top menu bar.
  • Click OK to request the GALILEO password.

2) In Person
Visit the library's Circulation Desk with your OU PetrelPass.

We are not permitted to distribute the password over the telephone. For more information, see the GALILEO Access Policy.

Oglethorpe's password changes 4 times a year: May 17th, June 15th, August 16th, and January 4th.
